Flowers for Philly
Who: Janiya, Troop 1313, Philadelphia
What: Janiya cleared debris and planted flowers at a local park. She also built and installed a bench at a community garden.
Outdoor class in session
Who: Michael, Troop 158, Hackettstown, New Jersey
What: Michael and his helpers worked more than 450 hours to revitalize a garden at a middle school, creating space for outdoor classes and conservation education. They rebuilt planter frames and installed wood chips, stone, birdhouses, signs and plants.
Made in the shade
Who: Grace, Troop 226, San Diego
What: Grace and 26 volunteers installed a shaded bench near a trail entrance. It provides a landmark and offers a resting spot for hikers and cyclists.
Play ball!
Who: Jeffrey, Troop 14, Holliston, Massachusetts
What: Jeffrey and his fellow Scouts and leaders built a Fenway Park “Green Monster”-style wall in the play area of a local YMCA. Kids use the field for Wiffle ball and kickball.
Work of art
Who: Emma, Troop 17, Jacksonville, Oregon
What: Before a new performing arts teacher arrived at a local high school, Emma cleared a neglected room, replaced flooring, painted the walls and installed new furniture. Students and teachers use the area before and after performances.

Are scholarships available for outstanding Eagle projects?
Yes! The Glen A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award honors outstanding Eagle projects. An Eagle Scout, their parent or guardian, or any registered BSA volunteer (with the Eagle Scout’s permission) may submit the Eagle Scout service project for consideration.
