Time is running out to sign up for the 2025 Scouting America National Annual Meeting.
One of the most dynamic annual events in all of Scouting is set for May 12-16 in Orlando, Florida. The deadline to sign up is March 31.
Like last year’s event, this year’s National Annual Meeting promises inspiring guest speakers, informative elective sessions and enlightening conferences.
“Scouting America is built on the strength of individuals coming together with a shared purpose — to prepare young people for life,” says Scouting America Chief Scout Executive and President Roger A. Krone. “I personally invite you to join us as we gather to celebrate our successes, share insights and chart the future. Your leadership is vital, and your presence will make a difference.”

What is the National Annual Meeting?
The National Annual Meeting (often referred to simply as NAM) is an annual gathering of Scouting America employees and volunteers from across the country at every level of Scouting. The event is open to folks such as unit leaders, Scout executives, council presidents, registered Scouting America youth, Scouting America alumni and anyone else involved in Scouting in any way, along with their spouses or guests.
Every NAM is great in its own way, but after perusing the list of 2025 NAM events, I was struck by the speakers who will be appearing at different events throughout the week.
One of the keynote speakers is Richard Reeves, president of the American Institute for Boys and Men (AIBM), an organization that’s dedicated to helping boys and men from all backgrounds thrive today and in the future. Inspired by his own experiences as a father and policy expert, Reeves founded AIBM to bring awareness to the challenges facing boys and men today and to develop evidence-based solutions.
Also speaking is Azhar Azeez, CEO of Muslim Aid USA and former president of the Islamic Society of North America. Azeez, who will speak at the Duty to God breakfast, has devoted much of his life to building bridges between people of various faiths. He is a well-known public and motivational speaker who travels regularly around the U.S. for local, regional and national events of various faith-based and humanitarian organizations.
And another speaker, Guy Snodgrass, who will speak at the Americanism breakfast, is the CEO of Defense Analytics, a national security and foreign policy strategic advisory firm specializing in strategy development, government policy and technology adoption. Snodgrass is a career U.S. Navy fighter pilot who led combat missions in support of forces on the ground in the Middle East.
Do I really need to sign up in advance?
It is highly recommended that you sign up in advance.
It is possible to register on-site at a much higher fee. However, those who sign up when they arrive will likely find that the events they’d like to attend are full.

And back for its second year: a 5K fun run/walk with Roger Krone.
Where is the 2025 Scouting America National Annual Meeting?
The 2025 National Annual Meeting will be at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in Orlando. Book your room before March 31 to ensure your spot.
The hotel will honor the Scouting America discounted rate three days before and three days after NAM, subject to availability. That means you and your family could take a few days to make a vacation out of it and visit nearby attractions such as Disney Springs, the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, Aquatica water park, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Studios, Walt Disney World, and the hotel’s world-class golf course.
What is a NAM Silver Guest?
A Silver Guest attends only the Silver Antelope luncheon and the Silver Buffalo dinner.
The Silver Antelope luncheon, held to recognize those who have earned Scouting America’s award for registered Scouters who have demonstrated exceptional character and distinguished service to youth in their territory, is Wednesday, May 14, 12–2 p.m.
The Silver Buffalo dinner, which recognizes recipients of Scouting America’s award for registered Scouters and non-Scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service at the national level, is Thursday, May 15, from 7–9 p.m.
