Starting Jan. 18, 2024, you and your Scouts can work toward landing a coveted trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, Summit Bechtel Reserve, Sea Base or Northern Tier, as national high-adventure base registration opens for 2025.
And if that’s not cool enough, the Scout Life team is sweetening the week by giving away an Acropolis 4-person tent and a Nomad roll top pack to a couple of lucky viewers tuned into the kickoff party #TrekOnTuesday on Jan. 16, 2024, at 2 p.m. Central. A special thanks to ALPS Mountaineering for donating these awesome prizes.

Registration opens Jan. 18. So what?
“Adventure of a lifetime” is no understatement when talking to Scouts about their experiences at any of the four national high-adventure bases. And landing a spot for a trek takes a lot prep, training and, yes, planning ahead!
That’s why we want you to be in the know and ready to act when 2025 registration opens on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024.
Throughout the day, we’ll be checking in with each base to learn more about trek offerings and hear why registering early is the best way to ensure you can snag a spot (again, watch live on the Boy Scouts of America, Scout Life and Scouting magazine pages).
And we’ve heard some rumblings about additional giveaways for commenters throughout the day. So it’s totally worth tuning in even if you’re not ready to commit to registering for a trek quite yet (we see you, Cub Scout families).
