Cub Scout Pack 9307 of Rainier, Washington, participated in annual project to give back to children in need by packing shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and clothing.
The project taught the Cub Scouts about giving back and community service. Leaders emphasized the importance of life skills and values like trustworthiness and kindness.

Scout builds bird-watching shelter for service project
Francesca DiTommaso, 17, completed her Eagle Scout project by building a bird-watching blind at Poland Township Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
A bird-watching blind is a shelter for observing wildlife, especially birds, up close.
Designed for up to four people, the blind is near the park’s bird-feeding station and features removable bird-watching screens.
Francesca is the first female to complete an Eagle Scout service project at the park.

Eagle Scout constructs chimney swift tower for service project
Mitchell Anstine of Troop 334 in Green, Ohio, completed his Eagle Scout service project by constructing a chimney swift tower at a local park.
The tower provides a new home for chimney swifts, federally protected migratory birds that currently inhabit the chimney of the soon-to-be-demolished Green Intermediate School.
Mitchell got the idea from a teacher who spoke of the need to protect the birds.
He researched the project with the Northeast Ohio Chimney Swift Conservation Group and worked with the City of Green Parks Department to design and place the tower. He built the structure with help from his family.

His project, which aims to promote safe water recreation, reflects his commitment to civic duty and the Eagle Scout ideals. Union County Parks and Recreation Director Jim Chaffin praised Bode’s contribution, noting its positive community impact.
