Scouting Show and Tell: Holiday Decor

Decorations pictured from Jennifer Hettinger, Jessica Painter and Rebbecca Jackson

‘Tis the season to deck the halls with tinsel and ornaments. For some Scouting families, that means Scout-themed holiday decor. That means it’s time for Show and Tell, where Scouters show their favorite photos and tell the story behind them.

This time, send us photos of your home’s Scouting decor. Is your tree covered in patches? Do you have a Scout nutcracker? Are your outdoor lights done in Scouting colors?

Just visit go.scoutingmagazine.org/showandtell. You can also email us at onscouting@scouting.org, leave a comment below or share via social media using #ScoutingShowandTell.

You could be featured in an upcoming issue of Scouting magazine. For more Scouting Show and Tell topics, click here. We also want to see other ways you make Scouting great, so if you have a funny skit, cool activity uniform or neat neckerchief slide, send them our way as well.

By the light of the campfire

What if you don’t have any Scout-themed decor? Well, you can still have a very Scout-y holiday, thanks to Boys’ Life and Scouting magazines. We have a video, done in similar fashion to the festive “Fireplace for Your Home” videos, available for you to play in your home, aimed to put everyone in a Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent mood.

This campfire video was shot at Circle Ten Council’s Camp Wisdom. Keep an eye out, you might find a couple of fun Scouting Easter eggs hidden in there!
