Scout earns rare accomplishment

Caiden Futchko, a 16-year-old Eagle Scout from Troop 183 in Blandon, Pennsylvania, earned a rare accomplishment in Scouting. He obtained all 139 merit badges, including the discontinued medicine badge and its replacement. In the 100 years of Scouting, fewer than 1% of Scouts have done the same.

Throughout his pursuit, Caiden gained a ton of knowledge and skills, and some merit badges helped him overcome challenges and fears.

Now a junior assistant Scoutmaster, Caiden aims to inspire fellow Scouts, believing that Scouting fosters practical skills, leadership, self-confidence and community involvement.
