Calling all Scouting alumni! Let’s meet at Philmont this summer

“Once a Scout … Always a Scout.” That’s the mantra for the BSA Alumni Association. The association, created in 2008, serves as an umbrella organization for many Scouting affiliations and networks, like the National Eagle Scout Association, Alpha Phi Omega and more.

There are many groups that connect people through shared interests or experiences, but all are “Scouting alumni.”

Scouting alumni are invited to the inaugural National Gathering of Alumni, slated for June 12-18 at Philmont Scout Ranch.

An event for alumni

Set at the Philmont Training Center, the National Gathering of Alumni will be a family-friendly week of helping attendees to build or rekindle their connections with Scouting. There will be networking socials, roundtables, community fairs and alumni-specific training sessions.

Not all activities will involve networking and training. You can tour the National Scouting Museum, take hikes to iconic and beloved Philmont sites and enjoy campfire programs. It’ll feel like you’re back at summer camp. One day will be unscheduled, so you can create your own adventures.

Attendees will enjoy the PTC’s premier camping experience with top-tier facilities and accommodations. And what’s a Scouting event without patches? When you register, you will receive a patch. Feel free to proudly wear that patch prior to the event. When you arrive, you’ll get another patch, and at the end of the gathering, you’ll receive another to complete your trio set.

Registration is now live; you can sign up here. Adult individual registration costs $520; a spouse can sign up for $475. All you’ll need to bring is your ideas to help empower each other to be ambassadors for Scouting.
