The Philmont Photo Archive, a window into Philmont’s past through official group photos, has reached a new milestone in its steady trek back in time.
Now you can view photos from 1981 to 2015 — that’s 141,752 images in all.
If you participated in a Philmont program in the past 34 years, your photo is on there. I’m talking cavalcade, traditional crew expedition, individual trek, Philmont Training Center or Philmont staff.
Viewing watermarked photos in the Philmont Photo Archive is free. Buying an 8-by-10-inch print costs you $10 for the first one and $7 for additional copies of the same photo.
Prefer it digitally? The 2,400-by-3,000-pixel image is available for $15.
Did you attend Philmont from 1965 to 1980? Your photo will show up soon. Philmont staffers scan about five summers’ worth of photos each year, working backward in time. You can learn more about the Philmont Photo Archive here.
If you attended before 1965, you’ll need to scour your personal archives for Philmont photos. Philmont began saving photo negatives in 1965.
How to find your photo

I was fortunate enough to go on two Philmont treks, first in 1999 and then again in 2002.
I knew the dates our treks left (July 4, 1999, and June 26, 2002), so finding the photos took me about three minutes. I’ve included my photos below.
