Again and again this week in Washington, important officials have told the Scouts and Venturers delivering the Report to the Nation that real-world experience is just as important as education

Lt. Gen. Leslie Smith, Inspector General of the U.S. Army, welcomed the Report to the Nation delegates to his conference room inside the Pentagon on Monday.

Four Eagle Scout midshipmen gave a special tour of the U.S. Naval Academy to the Report to the Nation delegates. The academy’s National Eagle Scout Association chapter is one of the nation’s largest.

Most Smithsonian guests don’t get to see the one-eyed cat, located in a sixth-floor room filled with metal cabinets organized by species. But the Report to the Nation delegates did.
