Noah Blevins, a member of Troop 92 in Double Springs, Alabama, led an Eagle Scout project to honor veterans buried at Double Springs Memorial Cemetery.

Inspired by the legacy of his grandfather, a U.S. Air Force veteran, Noah’s project focused on identifying and cleaning veterans’ graves and culminated in creating the town’s first memorial dedicated to all veterans.

The project carried deep personal significance for many involved, including cemetery committee member Greg Farris, whose father, a Korean War-era Army National Guard veteran, is also buried there.

Scout aims to save hawks and planes

Jonathan Babati, a Scouts BSA member from Troop 295 in Cypress, California, completed his Eagle Scout project by designing and building humane hawk traps to help prevent collisions between wildlife and aircraft near Long Beach Airport.

“There have been incidents where hawks get sucked up into engines,” Jonathan said. “I thought this would be a perfect project to prevent that and help (the airport) save a lot of money.”

With help from fellow Scouts, friends and family, Jonathan constructed traps using safe materials to temporarily capture the birds for relocation by environmental scientists.

Scout gives back with safety fence

Texas Thomas from Troop 161 in Niwot, Colorado, led an Eagle Scout project to build a new, extended fence at Niwot Children’s Park, improving the overall safety of the area and defining park boundaries.

Coordinated with the Niwot Cultural Arts Association, the project involved more than 25 volunteers and support from local businesses. The effort reflects Texas’ commitment to giving back to the community.

“It means a lot to build my project so close to where we meet, where we live. I’ve come to the park for…festivals and recreation and fun. Today, I’m giving back,” Texas said.
