Aaron Moss, an Eagle Scout from Troop 99 in Pana, Illinois, has made a lifesaving impact on his community by raising $36,000 to purchase two LUCAS chest compression devices — one for Pana Community Hospital and the other for the Pana Fire Department.
The LUCAS device, which stands for Lund University Cardiac Assist System, is a mechanical CPR tool designed to deliver consistent, high-quality chest compressions during cardiac arrest. This technology improves survival rates by ensuring uninterrupted compressions during emergency care.
Recognizing its potential to save lives, Aaron spearheaded a wide-reaching fundraising campaign that included community events and outreach efforts. His initiative united residents, businesses and organizations in supporting a common cause.
Aaron’s Eagle Scout project provides essential equipment to first responders and showcases the profound impact youth leadership can have on public health and community well-being.

Track upgraded by Eagle Scout

Thomas Lee from Troop 162 in Arlington, Virginia, completed his Eagle Scout project by building a new gravel landing area for his high school’s shot put pit.
The project replaced a muddy lawn that often trapped shots. Thomas planned and led the effort with help from teammates, coaches, family and school staff.
The 1,300-square-foot gravel pit enhances the track-and-field experience.
