Monty Gibson, strength and conditioning coach for the Cleveland Browns, brought the Americanism Breakfast crowd of Scouters to their feet this morning. But not before he brought his Scouting journey to a new summit as the National Eagle Scout Association awarded him the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout honor.

This award is exclusive to Eagle Scouts who are notable for their accomplishments and devoted to their vocations.

“The Scouting trail has led me on most of my big adventures in life,” Gibson said to a packed room at National Annual Meeting.

Gibson continued to prove his outstanding character with unabashed credit to the Scouting program. He shined as he shared how Philmont Scout Ranch strengthened his relationship with his father, guided his and his wife’s fates, and acted as a milestone in his sons’ coming of age.

Check out Gibson’s unshakably positive attitude and let it pump you up in the video* below.

*Watch all the way through to hear from Scout Vickie Brubaker, who elicited a few tears when she performed the national anthem for a room of previously stoic Scouting veterans. Even an ever-the-coach Gibson cheered on Brubaker with, “Girl, go chase that dream. Eagle, soar! That was awesome.”
