I see a crater. With a lake in it.
Did the answer to our January-February 2012 “Where Am I?” reader contest jump out at you right away?
You weren’t alone.
We received roughly 1,200 responses, and all but a handful correctly guessed Crater Lake in Oregon.
But who was the lucky winner?
The big prize goes to Joey Wisniewski of the Central New Jersey Council. Joey’s entry was randomly selected from 1,192 correct responses, meaning his odds of winning were approximately 0.08 percent.
For winning, Joey gets a $100 gift card, good at his local Scout Shop or ScoutStuff.org.
Joey, a Life Scout, is working on his Eagle Scout project right now. I spoke with Joey’s dad, Felix, yesterday, and Felix said his son is planning to use the gift card to donate gear to his troop.
The donation is Joey’s way of giving back to the troop that has been his Scouting home for years.
Well done, Joey!
