#SummerofVenturing Day is Aug. 31, so share your adventures

Venturers, how was your summer? Did you staff a summer camp or volunteer at an animal shelter? Did you raft Class IV rapids or fly down a giant zip line? Did you do something completely crazy you couldn’t wait to share with friends and family?

I’m guessing the answer to that last one is a resounding yes.

If so I’ve got just the thing: #SummerofVenturing Day. It’s a chance for Venturers from across the country to share photos, videos and stories from their summer adventures. And it’s Monday, Aug. 31, 2015.

Use the hashtag #SummerofVenturing on your favorite social media platform — Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. The Central Region Venturing Officers, who came up with the #SummerofVenturing idea, are hoping to get the hashtag trending on various channels. (By the way, how cool that this whole idea started with the youth? That’s what you’d expect in a youth-led program.)

Brian Parro, Central Region Venturing president, sent me the idea. But this isn’t limited to crews in the Central Region. It’s for Venturers from all four regions to show off their epic summers.

This paragraph from the Central Region’s official writeup says it all:

Include stories, favorite memories and maybe a funny moment or two. You could also include photos or videos from your adventures — maybe a beautiful waterfall or a group photo of your crew? We can’t wait to read all about your adventures!
