Here are the outstanding young men who won 2015’s top NESA scholarships

The incredible character we’ve associated with Eagle Scouts for 103 years is alive and well in 2015.

You see proof in Shane Uribe, a former foster child who, for his Eagle Scout project, provided high-quality duffel bags filled with a flashlight, stuffed animal and warm blanket to 100 foster children.

You see proof in Frank Nash, an Eagle Scout who will attend the University of Missouri – Kansas City and learn to provide medical care to underserved communities.

And you see proof in Trevor Case, an Eagle Scout whose passion for STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — drove him to receive all of the BSA STEM Nova awards.

These three young men received the three top NESA scholarships for 2015. (Did your Scout apply for one of these scholarships? NESA will begin contacting other recipients by letter on June 15, 2015.)

As for 2016 scholarships, look for news about how to apply later this year. If past years are any indication, the deadline likely will be on or around Dec. 31, 2015.

But back to Shane, Frank and Trevor. These guys were recognized at the National Annual Meeting in Atlanta at this morning’s Americanism Breakfast, sponsored by the National Eagle Scout Association.

Videos of the recipients were shown at the breakfast, but you can watch them right here:
