The New Year was welcomed with a bang on Jan. 1 as the Boy Scouts of America float had a starring role in the Rose Parade.
The float, seen above in a beautiful photo by volunteer Dennis Kuba, was a hit with the thousands who lined the parade route and the millions who watched the live telecast from home.
It also caught the eye of judges, too. The float won the award for "Best Depiction of Life in the USA: Past, Present, or Future."
