“An epic tale of adventure in the outdoors.” That describes the trips Scouts are taking all summer, and it’s a fitting tagline for “Alpha,” the new movie from Sony Pictures that’s howling into theaters Aug. 17.
Five Venturers from Crew 999 of Plano, Texas, spent a week in the U.S. Virgin Islands earlier this summer. The five young women sailed, snorkeled and swam.
Now that Sea Scouting is its own program, a new Sea Scout Leadership Award will debut in 2017 to recognize outstanding service to Sea Scouting in 2016.
