Is High Adventure part of the Program or is it something the Committee provides leadership on? Our HA organizer would like to limit the number of advisors going to Philmont next year but our troop is unsure who makes this decision and who determines who should/is able to go. Is this the CC or SM (both) – I really don’t think the organizer should be making these types of decisions.
I can’t seem to find any Official answers to this.
If this is a troop, then the decision is ultimately in the hands of the PLC, with guidance from the SM. But keep in mind that they need applicable information for which to make that decision, including what rules Philmont has for number of adults vs. youth in a crew for their treks.
