Every family should have access to the values of Scouting.
That’s why Scouting America is proud to announce that the latest versions of most of the program materials for Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA are now available in Spanish — because every American child deserves the opportunity to grow in confidence, leadership, character development and service, no matter what language they speak at home.
“The same principles that make Scouting great — community, family and service — are shared values in Spanish-speaking cultures in America,” says Eduardo Casas, Scouting America’s multicultural engagement director. “These Spanish-language manuals are a reflection of Scouting’s promise to every family.”
The books are available for electronic download from Amazon or via print on demand from the national Scout Shop online store.

Why are Scout handbooks important?
Scouting America’s handbooks are designed to be a comprehensive guide to the Scouting program, covering everything from camping and hiking to first aid and survival skills. With clear, easy-to-understand instructions and illustrations, the handbooks are designed to help young Americans develop their leadership skills, build self-confidence and learn important life lessons.
The current editions of the Scouting America handbooks are successors to the original Boy Scouts Handbook, written by Robert Baden-Powell and published in 1911. Interestingly, that book itself was the descendant of Baden-Powell’s Scouting for Boys, published in 1908, two years before the Boy Scouts of America was founded.
Today’s Scouts BSA and Cub Scout handbooks provide youth members with the tools they need to advance through the Scouting program. From rank and community service requirements to outdoor ethics, healthy eating habits and safety tips, a Scout’s handbook is designed to help Scouts of all ages become the best version of themselves.
