In just a couple of weeks, chances are more than a few Cub Scout-age children will be roaming your neighborhood on the lookout for treats, hoping not to stumble into any tricks.
I wouldn’t dream of telling you what kind of candy you should provide them, but I will suggest something you could give them in addition to all that deliciousness: a Halloween-themed bookmark, courtesy of our friends at Scout Shop.
Contact your local Scout Shop to ask about availability, or download and print your own bookmarks from the Scouting America Brand Center.
On the front, the bookmark has a QR code that takes families to the BeAScout homepage. On the back, there’s a blank space in which you can add information about your local Cub Scout pack.
After all, what better treat could you possibly give children than the experience of Scouting?
The bookmark features the Cub Scout logo — styled orange and black for the season, of course — along with spooky type that reads, “Don’t get ghosted, join the adventure!”
Beneath the image of a friendly-looking ghost wearing a Cub Scout cap and neckerchief, you’ll find a QR code that will take kids and their parents to the BeAScout website, Scouting America’s primary tool to allow families to find Scouting units near them.
(If you haven’t already, now’s a good time to make sure your BeAScout pin is up to date.)
The back of the bookmark allows for some customization. Feel free to add your pack number, school, chartering organization, meeting location and dates, and contact information for someone who can help families get signed up.
The bookmarks are available for free while supplies last at Scout Shop locations across the country. Click here to find a Scout Shop near you.
