Cub Scouts from Staten Island, New York, have launched a heartfelt community project to support young patients at a local pediatric cancer center.
After more than a year of planning and fundraising, the Cub Scouts from Pack 6 delivered 40 activity kits filled with games and art supplies to hospitalized children.
The initiative aimed to bring joy and comfort to young cancer patients. The project also taught the Cub Scouts valuable lessons about compassion, teamwork and community service.

Duck rescue project takes flight

Chris Greco, a Scouts BSA member from Troop 7083 in Mantua, New Jersey, is partnering with the South Jersey Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for his Eagle Scout project to build predator-proof enclosures for recovering ducks.
The nonprofit center helps injured animals return to the wild. To fund the project, Chris launched a “Sponsor a Duck” fundraiser, offering rubber ducks for every $5 donation.
Chris chose the project due to his passion for nature and animals.

Scout honors community with repairs

Clark Gasbarre from Troop 103 in Williamsburg, Virginia, completed his Eagle Scout project by repairing a deteriorating deck at a local community pool. He also improved part of a nearby trail.
Motivated by his longtime connection to the pool, Clark replaced deck boards, railings and a gate. He also added erosion control and gravel to the trail.

Golden flamingos land in neighborhoods to support Cub Scout
Cub Scout Pack 185 from Clarksville, Tennessee, launched a meaningful project by spray-painting flamingos gold and making yard signs to raise awareness for one of their members who is battling cancer.
Throughout September, the golden flamingo flocks will be placed in neighbors’ yards to spread positivity and encourage participation in the project. Those who are “flocked” can pass the flamingos along, take photos to share with the Cub Scouts and help track each flock’s journey.
Participants will receive a custom patch, making the initiative both impactful and interactive.
