Troop 998 in Chewelah, Washington, is seeing its strongest growth in years under the leadership of a new Scoutmaster.

Eagle Scout empowers girls with service project
Madison Thomas, an Eagle Scout from Macon, Georgia, organized a project that resulted in the donation of 300 bags of feminine hygiene products to four local schools as part of her Eagle Scout service project.
Motivated by a desire to support young girls who may lack access to these essentials, Madison expanded her project from two schools to four due to strong interest from educators. Her initiative aims to ensure that girls feel seen and supported both at school and at home.
“I feel like girls sometimes get overlooked with this type of stuff, and I wanted to make sure they knew that they weren’t getting overlooked,” Madison said.

Scouts unite to help wildfire victims
Mississippi Scouts have raised $5,000 to support their fellow Scouts in California after the Palisades Fire destroyed Camp Josepho, home to the Malibu Lodge and West Los Angeles County Council.
Ti’ak Order of the Arrow Lodge 404 raised the funds by designing and selling limited-edition patches. The donation reflects the Scouts’ commitment to unity and support during times of crisis.
Scouts involved emphasized the importance of helping one another, recalling how they had received support after past disasters.
“We’ve had Hurricane Katrina,” said Noah McKinney with Troop 220 in Moss Point, Miss. “In my own troop down on the coast, we had a tornado a couple of years ago. We wouldn’t be where we are if it wasn’t for people coming together to help us and support us financially.”
