Here’s one big reason to make your 2026 high-adventure base reservation now

If you’re still on the fence about a trip to a Scouting America national high-adventure base, maybe this will help: All four Scouting America bases are now offering incentive pricing for certain 2026 treks.

For a limited time only, you can book selected 2026 treks at 2025 pricing at Sea Base in the Florida Keys, the Northern Tier National High Adventure Program in northern Minnesota and Canada, Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico, and the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia.

A high-adventure trek is often the pinnacle of a young person’s experience in Scouts. Whether it’s backpacking in New Mexico, canoeing in Canada, sailing off the coast of Florida or riding the rapids of the New River in West Virginia, these are opportunities of a lifetime for all Scouts.

How do I find discounted treks for the 2026 season?

Now is the perfect time to think about which national high-adventure base you’ll visit in 2026.

Start by visiting the Scouting America national high-adventure base homepage, where you’ll find detailed descriptions of everything offered at each property.

Registration for summer 2026 treks opened in January, but this special incentive pricing just went live and will remain available for a limited amount of time. To find a 2026 trek that’s eligible for the special 2025 pricing, you’ll need to explore the registration system for the base you want to visit.

At Philmont and Sea Base, only treks that begin after July 15, 2026, are eligible for the discounted rate.

What other perks are available if I book a 2026 trek?

Philmont Scout Ranch is offering three additional perks if you book a 2026 trek now.

First, you’ll get a special Philmont Scout Ranch-branded semiquincentennial patch not only to recognize Philmont but also to honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Second, you’ll be entered into a drawing to receive free custom Philmont-themed T-shirts for your trek.

And, finally, if you’re a Scout leader bringing a contingent or crew that’s new to Philmont, one of your advisors will be able to take the Philmont Advisor Skill School (PASS) training course with wilderness first aid included. Philmont crew advisors typically take the PASS course during the fall or winter before they hit the trail. This offer doesn’t include transportation to and from Philmont, but if you can get yourself there, your lodging, meals and training will be free.
