Cub Scout Pack 3738, based in Viera, Florida, recently donated essential supplies to students at Golfview Elementary School in nearby Rockledge.
The donations, which included deodorant, shampoo, soap and socks, were collected over several weeks, with contributions from parents and the local community. This act of kindness is part of the Arrow of Light den’s requirement to plan and carry out a service project.
Cubmaster Jason Buchanan highlighted the importance of teaching Scouts to give back to their community.
“We’ve been doing this for about four years, with different service projects each year. It’s amazing to see the kids learn to give back while having fun. It’s a lesson they’ll carry with them for life,” Buchanan said.

Over three weekends, Justin, members of his family and a team of Scout volunteers replaced four garden beds. Justin hopes his project will have a lasting impact on the community.
“It’s not about benefiting me but about giving back to the community and helping others,” Justin said. “It’s a lot of fun but also stressful, and the end result makes it all worth it.”
