It’s time for #Campsgiving, a great outdoor Thanksgiving tradition

Scouts go on outdoor adventures all year long, including around Thanksgiving.

We like to call it #Campsgiving, a time when the Boy Scouts of America encourages units go hiking, camping and cooking traditional Thanksgiving meals outside. It’s not a new tradition for some units. For example, Troop 66 of West Suffield, Conn., hosts a Thanksgiving campout every year, where they cook turkeys (some in trash cans) and all the trimmings, and invite another troop, a Cub Scout pack and all their family members to enjoy the feast.

Sounds like fun? Of course it is!

If your pack, troop, ship or crew is going camping during Thanksgiving weekend, we want to hear about it. Share the story of your #Campsgiving tradition in the comments below or here.
