Scouts go on outdoor adventures all year long, including around Thanksgiving.
We like to call it #Campsgiving, a time when the Boy Scouts of America encourages units go hiking, camping and cooking traditional Thanksgiving meals outside. It’s not a new tradition for some units. For example, Troop 66 of West Suffield, Conn., hosts a Thanksgiving campout every year, where they cook turkeys (some in trash cans) and all the trimmings, and invite another troop, a Cub Scout pack and all their family members to enjoy the feast.
Sounds like fun? Of course it is!
