A pair of separate sessions this winter in Florida will help councils improve how they handle Wilderness First Aid instruction and Enterprise Risk Management.

Wilderness First Aid Instructor Development Course

What: Build your council’s Wilderness First Aid instructor capacity at the Florida Sea Base Brinton Environmental Center on Summerland Key.

When: Jan. 27 to 31, 2017

Why: Participants will learn BSA Wilderness First Aid, as well as develop instructor skills that are important to support council high-adventure programs.

Enterprise Risk Management Summit

What: Do you truly have a handle on the risks that your council faces every day, how to protect your council’s assets or ensure a safe environment for participants? To help answer that question, the BSA’s Health and Safety team encourages ERM chairs and council staff advisors to attend the 2017 ERM Summit at the Florida Sea Base in Islamorada.

When: Feb. 2 to 5, 2017

Why: The summit is designed to share ideas and information on providing for the physical and mental well-being of participants in Scouting.
