Help send this Scout to Super Bowl LI

Some people, like these 14 Eagle Scouts, play, coach, manage or perform their way to the Super Bowl.

Others, like one lucky kid each year, take a much different route.

Scouts and Scouters, let’s give a cheer to Ryan Stoltz, a Second Class Scout from Troop 3295 of Minnesota’s Northern Star Council. Ryan is one of three finalists to be the NFL Play 60 Super Kid.

The youngster who receives the most votes by Dec. 13 will be the winner and get to hand off the game ball before Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5 in Houston.

So that means you shouldn’t just cheer for Ryan. You should vote for him early and often.

The Play 60 program asks kids to be physically active for at least 60 minutes each day, and that’s nicely aligned with the BSA’s commitment to physical fitness through rank requirements, Cub Scout adventures and Boy Scout merit badges.

He wouldn’t be the first

Ryan, a 12-year-old from Eden Prairie, Minn., wouldn’t be the first Scout to deliver a Super Bowl game ball.

Cub Scout Thomas Brown, a 9-year-old from Virginia Beach, Va., who read about the contest in Boys’ Life magazine, performed that role at Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014.

Vote for Ryan

Good luck, Ryan!
