A Boy Scout won Season 2 of MasterChef Junior back in December 2014. If you ask me, it’s time for seconds.
MasterChef Junior, the Fox competition that awards $100,000 to a preteen cook, is hosting open casting calls for Season 6 in New Orleans, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, and Jacksonville, Fla.
The young cook must be at least 8 years old by Aug. 1, 2017, and no older than 13. And (though this should go without saying), the minor must be accompanied by an adult guardian throughout the open call.
Though attending a casting call is considered “the preferred method,” interested applicants may apply by sending in a video. Learn how here, and pay special attention to that July 15 deadline.

A look back at Season 2
Season 2’s champion was Logan Guleff, a Boy Scout from Troop 34 of the Chickasaw Council, headquartered in Memphis, Tenn.
Logan, who first made headlines in Boys’ Life magazine, won $100,000 and the title of MasterChef Junior champion. His grilled shrimp prawns with smoked saffron aioli and olive tapenade looked like something you’d find in a five-star restaurant.
