What’s your favorite jamboree memory?

Maybe it was the time you tried whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, skateboarding or scuba diving for the first time.

Maybe it was hours spent swapping patches — and stories — with Scouts from far-away states.

Maybe it was the 10 days, no two alike, of freedom to enjoy with your friends the best Scouting has to offer.

A National Jamboree is the BSA’s gathering of Scouts and Venturers from across the country. It’s been held every four years or so since 1937 at parks or Army bases. In 2013, the jamboree found a permanent home at the BSA’s Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.

Jamborees create memories that last a lifetime, and for this Tuesday Talkback I want to hear about those memories. Share yours — from the 1937 Jamboree, the 2013 Jamboree or any Jamboree between — in the comments below.

Make your Jamboree memory

If you haven’t yet experienced the magic of a Jamboree or are ready to make new Jamboree memories, learn how to attend or serve on staff at the 2017 National Jamboree. It’s set for July 19 to 28, 2017, at SBR.
