Scouts Then and Now: How to submit your photos

Scouting changes young people in ways you can’t see.

They become more confident, better leaders and more prepared for whatever life sends their way. That much we know.

But today I’m interested in the changes you can see.

Introducing “Scouts Then and Now,” a new feature on Bryan on Scouting. Send me two photos of your Scouts: One in their early years (Cub Scouts, Tenderfoot Boy Scouts) and one in their later years (Life Scout, Eagle Scout, Venturer).

Think of it as an extension of my Eagle Scout project before-and-after series.

I’ll post the young person’s first name, home state and the side-by-side photos in a future blog post. Scroll to the end of this post for instructions.

By the way, that’s me above as a Cub Scout and as an Eagle Scout. Not exactly then and now but then and later. Here’s another great example I saw on Twitter:

How to send in your photos

  1. Send me two photos: one from the young person’s early Scouting years and another from his or her later Scouting years. I’ll combine the photos into one side-by-side image, so don’t worry about that step.
  2. Include the young person’s first name and home state.
  3. Send them as attachments to onscouting@scouting.org with the subject line “Scouts Then and Now.”
