Pip-battle

WATCH: Did Pip survive the battle round on ‘The Voice’? (spoilers)

Finally, the wait is over!

After more than a month since he last sang, Pip, the bow tie-wearing Eagle Scout who grew up singing at troop courts of honor, took the stage last night on NBC’s The Voice.

We’re in the battle rounds, and the format is simple: Two singers share the stage for a duet, and just one moves on.

Pip, a Georgia native whose real name is Phillip Arnold, battled against Nathan Parrett, a 24-year-old swim instructor from North Carolina. The pair performed “You Know I’m No Good,” Amy Winehouse’s 2007 hit.

Both singers impressed. Pip and Nathan shared a “wonderful, amazing duet,” said their coach, Adam Levine. But who made it through the battle?

Watch for yourself below, or read on to find out…

WARNING: SPOILERS

Adam said Pip is “naturally just a performer,” and the young singer’s versatility means he’ll be able to handle a wide range of songs as the show progresses.

So it’s Pip who moves on!

“I’m overwhelmed with excitement,” Pip said in an on-camera interview. “The live shows are going to be incredible.”

For the live shows, beginning April 2, the power shifts to you, me, and millions of Americans watching at home.

Let’s do our part, fellow Scouters, to support Pip with our votes. Consider it your good turn for the day.

I’ll post updates and reminders here as the season progresses.

  2. Didn’t know he was a Scout. Good looking out Bryan. Never voted on one of these shows before but certainly going to now.
