November-December 2011 “Where Am I?” winner, mystery location revealed

I can think of hundreds of reasons for you to visit the location pictured here and found on Page 46 of our November-December 2011 issue.

There’s the 300-foot redwoods, the massive limekilns, the cute otters diving into the sea, the banana slugs, the picturesque trails…

There’s also this: It’s the mystery location for our Where Am I? reader contest, and visiting there would surely give you an edge to enter and win a $100 BSA Supply Group gift card.

Talk about a visit that pays dividends!

In all, 715 of you gave it your best shot, and roughly three-fourths were correct. Nicely done!

The mystery location? Limekiln State Park in California — though we also accepted “Big Sur” as an answer.

We took all of the correct responses, assigned them a number, and used a random-number generator to pick our winner.

That belonged to Pam Wilson, a Scouter in Pensacola, Fla.

She’ll get the money to spend at her local Scout Shop or ScoutStuff.org. Oh, and our congratulations, of course.

The January-February 2012 Where Am I? location

If you didn’t win, let that motivate you to enter our January-February 2012 contest. Click here to give it a shot. You have until Feb. 20 to enter. Good luck!
