Revolutionary War buffs surely recognize the name of “Mad” Anthony Wayne, the American statesman and U.S. Army general.

Wayne, who was given the nickname “Mad Anthony” because of his fiery temperament, helped lead the Americans to victory in the Battle of Stony Point, among other important battles.

You’ll find his name in more than just history books, though.

The city of Fort Wayne, Ind., is named after him, and so is the BSA council there, Anthony Wayne Area Council.

You’ll also find “Mad Anthony” immortalized in the statue seen here, located in downtown Fort Wayne’s Freimann Square.

The Name That Council challenge asking you to identify Wayne and the council that shares his name was no match for Gene O’Rourke of the Dan Beard Council. He was the randomly selected winner from the 44 correct responses and will receive the free patch seen above.
