Submit your slogan ideas for National Robotics Week

Forget the holidays. If you or your Scouts like anything robotic, April 2011 is going to be "the most wonderful time of the year."

That's when the Boy Scouts of America's Robotics merit badge is scheduled to be released, and, not coincidentally, it's when the second annual National Robotics Week will take place: April 9 to 17, 2011.

Even though the robotics fun is more than four months away, organizers for National Robotics Week need your help now. They're searching for "a hip, catchy, attention-grabbing slogan that will make more people more aware of this great annual celebration of technology."

Have an idea? Click here to learn how to submit your 120-character-or-less slogan to the National Robotics Week Advisory Council. The site also lists some tips on what makes a great slogan.

Submissions close on December 13, 2010, at 12:01 a.m. EST. That gives you about two weeks to come up with a great idea. The advisory council will select the finalists, and then the public will vote on their favorite. Voting will take place in early January.

All finalists get a free National Robotics Week T-shirt. The winner, though, gets his or her slogan printed on posters, stickers, shirts, and anything else related to National Robotics Week. Sweet!

Start thinking of your own slogan ideas, and be sure to send this challenge to the guys in your pack, troop, or crew. If your unit submits several ideas, chances are better that one will be selected as a winner. Good luck!
