Friday's Name That Council was tricky. Many of you guessed that the patch above belonged to the San Francisco Bay Area Council. Great guess, but that's not it.
The actual answer is Marin Council, the council on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Marin Council is headquartered in San Rafael, Calif.
Jamboree patch collectors may recognize Marin Council as the home of the Yoda patch. That little guy was a red-hot collector's item at past jamborees. And given the popularity of the Star Wars franchise, it's surely a patch that will be around for a while.
Congrats to this week's winner, A. Marc Passy from the Sam Houston Area Council. We'll mail him the Marin Council shoulder strip.
Thanks to everyone for playing Name That Council. More and more of you are sending in your guesses each week.
We post new Name That Council challenges every Friday and give you until Tuesday to figure out the mystery council. That presents a great opportunity to involve your entire unit in the search for the mystery council, so pass the challenge along to the other Scouts and Scouters in your unit. Each Scout or Scouter can send in his or her own guess, meaning there's even more opportunities to win.
