As a third time attendant, I applaud how well this event went, except, that as a leader, I never am informed acurately, as to how to respond in a middle of the night weather crisis, like we had at 3am Wednesday...in weather hazards, we are taught NOT to be in or near metal objects, yet our tents and canopies all had metal...way too many people to have spread out over the fields ...I heard the PA announcement, but I can't tell you how many other leaders, did not even budge at the sound...wish we'd had more explainations as to how to handle these night crises...

Got an idea for a blog post?

We're looking for great trips to feature in What a Weekend, recognition-worthy volunteers for Scouter Spotlight, and tricky questions about BSA policies or procedures for Ask the Expert. Or anything else you can think of.

E-mail us your ideas.
