It’s officially the last minute as BSA coin nears sellout

BSACoin2 U.S. Mint sales figures released this week show that as of Sunday, only 1,023 copies of the Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars remain for purchase.

That means that about 97.7 percent of the 350,000-coin mintage has been sold.

The sales figures were reported on CoinNews.net.

All of the remaining coins are the more-expensive proof version pictured here. The coins sell for $43.95 and are available at the U.S. Mint's Web site or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). Coins purchased today will ship on June 25.

Once the BSA silver dollars completely sell out, Scouters will need to turn to private collectors or coin shops if they want to own these commemorative items.

A $10 surcharge from the sale of each coin helps bring Scouting to underserved areas.
