At jamboree, a world record attempt that could save a life

Jambologo With all of the off-the-wall world records out there (we're looking at you, "Heaviest Weight Lifted With Ear"), here's one that could save a life some day.

The 43,000 Scouts and leaders in attendance at the 2010 National Scout Jamboree this July will be given the chance to break the World Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External
Defibrillation (AED) training record.

On the jamboree's fourth day, Thursday, July 29, Scouts and Scouters can meet at the arena show site and take an hourlong CPR and AED course. The course will be offered 13 times—every hour on the hour from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Each course can accept up to 2,500 participants.

Participants will be issued nationally recognized CPR and AED course
completion cards from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute.

It's an opportunity for Scouts and Scouters to learn an important skill while being a part of something huge.
