On Saturday, the BSA released version 1.1 of its Boy Scout Handbook iPhone app. The app, which we gave a favorable review in early September, gets even better with this update.
One of only complaints we had with the original version of the app was the lack of landscape view. That's fixed in the update, allowing easier reading of text-heavy pages.
Other updates are minor but add to the overall usability of the $9.99 app, which is available through the iTunes store. If you already own the app, you can download the free update right on your iPhone or iPod Touch, or you can wait until you sync your device with your desktop or laptop at home.
Users seem to approve of the update, too. As of this writing, the current version of the app has received four out of five stars from reviewers.
And also worth mentioning is that the BSA is already working on a "major 2.0 update" that should make this handy tool even better.
